Flat Beans (Okinawan Flat Beans)
The Okinawan Flat Beans I planted on 6 October are growing quickly. I planted 10 seeds, so expect a ton of beans.

Flat Beans (Okinawan Flat Beans)
(10/6) I'm trying a new type of Flat Bean. My wife prefers these Flat Beans over Green Beans (Ingen) because they retain their texture much better when cooked.
I planted 10 seeds in this planter. There is still one Green Bean (Ingen) plant surviving from last season that I left.

Lettuce and Beans
This planter has Red (Sunny) and Green leaf lettuce, plus beans. I suspected ropes for the beans to climb. The are already starting to flower, but not sure if the beans are Bush beans or Flat beans.
Red Lead Lettuce
Green Lettuce and Beans, but again I do not know which type of bean since I planted both types. but they are flowering so will know soon enough.

Beans (Bikkuri Jumbo, Bush, Flat, Helda, Romano, String)
The Beans are starting to grow, but it is difficult to see them with all the lettuce sprouts, but they are starting to pop up. I like to grow Lettuce with my Beans and Tomatoes. I find they grow well together and compliment the soil.
(12 March) The Lettuce has ready grown and three String Bean plants appeared.
This is the second planter I have with Beans and Lettuce. I've already started to harvest the Lettuce and two Bean spouts finally popped through. At lunch I suspended some ropes for the Beans to climb.
(12 March) Beans starting to climb. I've eaten a lot of the Lettuce.
(10 April) Well, beans are starting to mature and they are all Bush Beans. None of the Flat Beans grew. I'll keep trying.

Beans (Bush Beans and Flat Beans)
I planted a mix of Bush Beans (String Beans, Ingen) and Flat Beans (Helda beans, Romano beans, Gavar Thali, Bikkuri Jumbo beans) yesterday. As soon as they start to sprout I will plant Lettuce or something else to take advantage of the lower part of the planter.
