I got this Bougainvillea vine cutting from a neighbor on 11 April 2021. By December 2021 it started to product leaves. I started to train it early last year and it finally started to bloom. Looks beautiful. I have a few more vines and training them to grow like a tree. It will take a few years since I need to trim it upwards and let the base grow thicker.
My trials and tribulations growing fruits, vegetables and herbs from my balcony garden

Bougainvillea
These are Bougainvillea cuttings taken last year on 11 April. At one point the leaves dried up and fell off. I was not sure they survived, but pleased to find they all made it and some are actually blossoming.

Bougainvillea Vine
My neighbor gave me a cutting from her 50 year old Bougainvillea vine. The flowers are gorgeous. Bougainvillea flowers comes in many colors, but I think the purple is the most vibrant. Bougainvillea is a thorny ornamental vine that I intend to grow over a trellis leading to my back yard garden. I could prepare a few containers of cuttings and plan to transplant them as soon as I see roots coming out the bottom of the containers. Oh yea, I need to build a trellis too :)
