Strawberry (Ichigo)

(9/29) I placed my Strawberry (Ichigo) tower in the shade during the summer and most made it through. Now they are starting to produce runners. The runners are short and I do not want them growing in the same tier; instead, I want to move them to a location with no or few plants.
So, I filled up a little ziplock bad with soil and placed the runner in it. Once it has a stonge enough root system, I will cut it off the mother and replant it.

Strawberry (Ichigo)

After loosing four runners, I successfully pinched down two. I should be able to propagate many plants this year.

Strawberry (Ichigo) Plant

I have had four runners from my new Strawberry (Ichigo) plant, but I have killed the first two by pinching them down too soon. The runner to the left will probably die too, but I removed the toothpick I used to pinch it down and hope the node creates a new runner. The runner to the right is just starting to grow leaves, so will wait until they get a little larger and try to pinch it down. I should be okay with number four.

Strawberry Plant (Ichigo)

I still have the original Strawberry plants (Ichigo) from previous posts, but the Strawberries were not so sweet, so decided to buy a new plant to see if I can get sweeter Strawberries. I will propagate them in the sprint when they start growing runners and hopefully will get a lot of delicious Strawberries.
