One of my neighbors was trimming his Goumi Berry Tree (shrub) and asked me if I wanted to try one. I never heard of a Goumi Berry before, so obviously I had to try it. Some people liken the taste to sour cherries or rhubarb, which I might agree with. Personally I can eat them raw, but think they will make an excellent jam.
I kept the seeds and planted them, obviously. My neighbor said they should start producing fruit in about five years.
