String Beans (Ingen)

String Beans (Ingen) are doing well this year. There are about 10 plants and I continue to plant 1-2 new beans every month to keep them going.
These were collected over the past few days and there are still more on the plants.

String Beans (Ingen)

I planted these String Bean seeds in late July and they are just starting to flower. The Tomato plant in the right container is self seeded and doing well. There is not a blemish on the plant and flowers all other the plant, but there are not a lot of pollinators on the second floor balcony, so not sure how many flowers will germinate.

String Beans (Ingen)

The String Beans I planted from my own seed stock in late July are doing well. I do not see any blossoms yet, but I suspect they will start soon.

Green Beans (Ingen)

This is my String Bean plant. It produces a handful of beans every other day. Every month or two I leave one bean on the plant to mature. I dry those seeds and plant them to keep constant growth.
These are new sprouts from beans I planted about two weeks ago. I still have a handful of beans and will plant them in a few weeks.
I picked these beans today. I do not always eat them immediately, but put them in the refrigerator. In a week or so I can save up quite a few beans.

Green Beans (Ingen)

Every couple of days I get a handful of String Beans (Ingen). This was from today. Lately, I've been leaving one bean on the plant until it dries and then plant the beans. This way I always have a few new plants growing and have a few beans every few days.

(04/17)
About a month ago I broke one on my bean plants and just stuck it in this container. Today I noticed a bean. It it is too large and will be too tough to eat, so I'll let it dry and plant the seeds.

Bush Beans (String Beans, Ingen)

I have a planter with Bush Beans (String Beans, Ingen) that I neglected, but the other day I have to move the planter and found a few beans I did not notice.

Bush Beans (String Beans, Ingen)

(6/3) I only get a few Bush Beans (String Beans, Ingen) every few days, so put them in the refrigerator until I need them. The store well. Here are the beans I collected over the past week or so. 127 grams (4.5 oz).
(6/1) I have four pretty productive plants, but planted five more to improve my daily harvest.

Bush Beans (String Beans, Ingen)

(5/14) Am I feeding my Beans too much! I missed these beans so will leave them to mature and will use them to plant more plants.
(5/21) I though these beans would stop growing and turn brown soon, but they keep growing. I hope I can get some good planting seed.

Lettuce and Beans

This planter has Red (Sunny) and Green leaf lettuce, plus beans. I suspected ropes for the beans to climb. The are already starting to flower, but not sure if the beans are Bush beans or Flat beans.
Red Lead Lettuce
Green Lettuce and Beans, but again I do not know which type of bean since I planted both types. but they are flowering so will know soon enough.

Beans (Bush Beans and Flat Beans)

I planted a mix of Bush Beans (String Beans, Ingen) and Flat Beans (Helda beans, Romano beans, Gavar Thali, Bikkuri Jumbo beans) yesterday. As soon as they start to sprout I will plant Lettuce or something else to take advantage of the lower part of the planter.

Bush Beans (String, Ingen)

This one Bush Bean (String Bean, Ingen) plant has produced many beans this year and continues to flower.

(26 January) Picked these yesterday.
(25 January) I planted about a dozen Bush Bean seeds last weekend. If they produce as much as the current plant, I'll be overwhelmed with beans. Also, I sprinkled Green Lettuce seeds on top to make as much use of the soil as possible, since they will not compete with one another. In fact, they will compliment each other as the beans put nitrogen in the soil that the Lettuce needs and the Lettuce will provide cover to keep to soil moist and weed free.

I planted Red Leaf Lettuce (Sunny Lettuce), String Beams (Ingen), Green Okra and Red Okra on 23 October in a seeding tray and have two String Bean sprouts. It is a little late in the season, but hoping for the best.

Bush Beans (String Beans, ingen)

The Bush Beans (String Beans, Ingen) from the second planting are starting to sprout. Only one seed from the first planting survived (top right). I suspect I planted the seeds too deep, but the second time around is a charm.
