My first ever Pineapple. It is tiny, but still a Pineapple :)

My Pineapple flower has turned into a real Pineapple. I cannot wait to try it. I did not document the type of fruit I planted at the time, but it looks like what the Japanese call a Snack Pine. The skin of the Pineapple is very bumpy and can latterly be pulled out and snacked on without cutting it open.

The Pineapple crown I planted the end of May is doing well. It has not grown at all, but rather I suspect it is working on developing its root system.

This Inflorescence (baby Pineapple) is really starting to take shape. It is starting to grow it's own leaves and crown. So cute!

I planted this Pineapple from a cutting in June 2019. Finally I can see a flower. Wow, nearly four years.

I planted this Pineapple cutting in June 2019, which has been 42 months ago. It typically takes 30 months to produce fruit and now wonder if it will ever produce :)

If you look closely there is a Pineapple plant. Even though it is engulfed by Tomato plants it is doing just fine. Pineapple plants are robust and grow well in both direct sun light or shade.

I bought two Pineapples from a supermarket today for 97 Yen ($1) each. Wow! I hope they are sweet. I look forward to eating them, but I also can't wait to plant the tops. Pineapples are easy to grow, but take roughly 30 months. You can simply cut of the top and place it in dirt and water well, or cut off the top and place in a glass of water until roots grow and plant. I simply place them in dirt directly. Pineapples do well in the direct sunlight, but can grew in shaded areas. I have three growing now and am excited to add these to my garden.

The Pineapple on the second floor balcony is doing well and growing. I also have lettuce (top right) growing in the same pot and a mysterious plant (left) that I cannot recall what I planted, but it is growing well. Curious to see what it turns out to be.

The Pineapple and Red Cucumber (Moi) plants are both doing well. I added a neat to allow the plants to climb.

I was able to get two Pineapples for just 179 Yen ($1.79). I ate one and it was so sweet, so I decided to plant them. To plant a Pineapple, simply cut off the top and remove any Pineapple flesh and some of the lower leaves. Next, mix 1/3 sand, 1/3 manure and the rest potting soil. Finally, simply stick the Pineapple in the soil and water. Now recall Pineapples take about 30 months to grow, so I need to wait quite a while.

I planted a Pineapple cutting in between my Watermelon plants and noticed it has new growth in the center.  It survives!

I cut the top off a pineapple and planted it in the middle of my watermelons. It takes about 30 months to grow, so I thought it a good idea to cross utilize the space. I'll see how that works out.
